Michael Taggart, with his third book, has brought to us the Magic that can be found in everyday things.Any one who has taken a magnifing lens and looked at the interior of a common flower will discover the wonder that is hidden there. I was expecting such from this book. Flowers Magnified. NO! At least not in that way.
For the most part these are perfectly ordinary flower pictures, brought to glorious bloom through Michael's skill in the editing end, thus magnifying the inherent beauty therein. The other part of Micheals art are the words. Wonderful titles and discriptions that bring out to us the hidden meaning the artist has embeded in his art. Titles such as "Torches" "Magic Wand" and "Dream Light" lead us into Michaels magic world.
Not only are we treated to the final picture, after Michael has done his magic,in the last pages we are treated to the before and after pictures that leads us through and lets us truly admire the processes of creation. Again and again I am reminded of the artistic tread in Michaels work that leads us back to Maplethorpe and even Ansel Adams. I think the closest artist to compare his work to, would be the late Georgia O'Keeffe with her extrodinary use of color and light in her flower paitings.
Thanks Michaels for your keen eye and warm heart in creating a book that when giving a gift of a Kindle to your Mother, daughter, sister or sweet heart, allows us to add a boquet of THE FLOWERS to it as well.
Highly recommended.

The Flowers by Michael Taggart Photography eBook Michael Taggart Judi Davidson Reviews
It gives the photographer pretty good tips. Also, includes pics that gives you the example of what the autor is talking about. I liked it.
Very good ideas will come to you after reading this book. This is will make you think about the possibilities of taking photos of flowers.
I am just learing to photograph flowers and closeups and the examples the author shares gave me many ideas. The flower photographs in the book were lovely.
I enjoyed the photography tips. Pictures were amazing. Very helpful information on photo editing. A must read that can be added to all aspiring photographers library.
What this Photographer, i.e. Artist, does with his editing is absolutely AMAZING!!! I am delighted to have found this book. If you truly care about creative quality, you will want to add this to your collection of photography books. Enjoy! I sure did! Thanks!
This book have some really beautifull photos from flowers, and it give you the original photos to compare, the autor say a little about his work, he really don't enter in details about the edits (or he isn't say how do it on every step) but looking at them can give new ideias about what you can do what a photo-editor program to make your photos even better. Even if they aren't about flowers...
I thought the concept behind this book was excellent. I love taking flower pictures - but even more I love how this author used editing software to take a beautiful flower pictures to a work of art. My only complaint is that I wish he had covered the actual editing process. For those of us who aren't great at removing background from an image - I'd like to know the steps he took to do that without ending up with raggedy edges around my photo. Other than my one "wish", I thought the book was well-done and beautifully illustrated.
